Treelet with three stems from a common base, 3-4 m tall, poorly branched; leaves coriaceous, dark green above, bright green below, slightly tomentulose; flowers cream, scent of cabbage (or old socks), visited by birds; corolla lobes triangular, five; stamens 10, longer than the corolla.
In low, closed forest on rocky iron crust, ultramafic soil.
