Tree c. 25 m tall, branched above 10 m. Leaves medium green above, light yellow-green below, veins yellow-green above, translucent below. Inflorescence yellow-green throughout, terminal, each 1º branch with 1-several central developing fruit and several surrounding 2º rays bearing umbellets composed mostly of male buds and flowers (occasionally with 1-2 central hermaphrodite buds as well); male flowers with a strong ester-like odor, the disc with copious nectar, visited by 2 species of ant and one uncollected species of bee or large fly.
