Description

Tufted subshrub, the short gnarled stems prostrate. Inflorescences decumbent, to 75 cm long; heads lavender-magenta, fading in age to pale lilac.

Ecological note

Abundant in wet campo. Sandy and gravelly campos and cerrado on outcrops.
