Shrub, 4 m tall; bark pale brown, smooth; leaves not coriaceus, dark geen and shiny above with yellow midrib and secondary nerves, paler green below; stipules green and sheathing, drying and falling of rapidly; young shoots and leaves covered with orage-brown hairs; fruits green, with brownish hairs, the latter especially dense on the persistent calyx
