Slender monocaulous treelet to 2 m tall. Entire plant britle. Leaves medium green above, shiny; most with a minute central leaflet. Leaflets 7-9. Ligule not stiff, channelled on abaxial surface. Primary inflorescence axis short. Secondary inflorescence axes 5-7, tinged purple. Post-anthesis flowers with ovary tinged purple, disc cream-white, stylar column cylindrical, cream-white. Stylar arms spreading to slightly reflexed, dark purple; stigmatic surface minutely plumose. Calyx rim magenta, disc and stylar column lighter in color. Ovary white tinged pale pink. Fruits globose; entire fruit turning cherry red, then dark purple
