Monocaulous or sparsely branched trees c. 3-5 m tall. Leaves dark green above and below, rachis, petiolule and midrib yellow-green, margin regularly undulate, base of petiole and stem lenticillate. Inflorescence terminal, pendant, c. 1 m long, axes brown corticate-lenticillate, bracts dry, chocolate-brown, caducous, pedicels corticate-lenticillate, calyx and corolla yellow-green, filaments yellow-green, anthers cream-white, flowers protandrous, the stigmas appressed to each other at anthesis.
