AFM (Madagascar - Africa)

Dans la 2e edit. de Nat. Pflanz. Broth. cette plante dans le g. Pottia groupe C de la sect. Eupottia. La sect. Splachnobryella C.M. du genre Pottia appartient d'arpès Fleischer au genre Gymnostomiella qui appartient au Splachnacées et se range près du genre Splachnobryum. Cf. Broth. loc. cit. p1203. Le P. tuberculosa appartien probablement à ce genre-P. de la Varde
